Bloom-Zooey

Ah, the last of my Bloom haul from a couple of months ago.

This is Bloom Zooey:

Zooey2ct

A very densely packed silver glitter. This was two coats, so I was pleased I didn’t have to do a million coats to get coverage. It was relatively smooth after I threw a coat of Seche Vite on top.

Not a bad little number! It’s not very ‘me’ but I can appreciate it all the same. I think this would be AWESOME with a really simple dress and heels for a night out on the town. A bit of bling on the nails!

What do you think?

Bloom - Kitty

I’ve been loving these Bloom polishes lately. Bloom is an Aussie brand which used to stick to more traditional colours when they first started but have since branched out into some lovely, different colours.

Like this one!

This is Bloom Kitty:

Kitty2ct

*drool*… A beautiful pistachio green. I love this colour and don’t have another like it in my collection! A lot of pale greens are the mint greens like essie Mint Candy Apple, which are lovely but this one is just something special for me.

This was two coats which went on perfectly. I was going to stamp over this but didn’t want to cover the stunning colour!

Do you have many Blooms?

Bloom–The Cassette Society I & Miss Connie I

I’ve been eyeing off the Chanel Les Jeans collection lately … I can’t bring myself to buy it yet because the cheapest I can get it for is AUD$109 + postage. One day it will be mine but for now, I’ve had to satisfy my cravings for it with other pretty blue polishes.

I think these two are pretty good polishes to do just that:

TheCassetteSocietyI_MissConnieI

The dark blue is Bloom The Cassette Society I and the light is Miss Connie I. They are beautiful Open-mouthed smile Two coats of each and an absolutely flawless formula. I got these when Bloom was having a 40% off Mother’s Day sale. They usually have polishes two for $30 so I got the 40% off that and free shipping for spending over $50. I think I ended up getting four polishes, a little pack of nail files and a concealer kit for about $55 with free shipping. Not too shabby Open-mouthed smile

I wanted to do a dotticure but one that was a little different to the ones I usually do. So I used a couple of different sizes of dotting tools to get different sized dots and did the opposite colour dots on each nail. This was my left hand and on my right I had Miss Connie I on my nails with The Cassette Society I as the accents. I got so many comments on these!

Have you done any dotticures lately?

B by Bloom-Sydney

I’ve been a bad blogger and didn’t get my shit together so I could participate in the Great Aussie Polish Challenge with the rest of the Aussie girls. I really, really wanted to participate but I have been feeling a bit under the pump this week and, while I had lots of Aussie mani photos ready to go, I just didn’t get time to sit down and blog Sad smile It’s almost 11pm and I only got to sit down a little while ago to check Facebook, emails etc.

Anyway, enough of my whingeing about how busy I am Winking smile

Here is an Aussie polish for you all! Better late then never, right? Winking smile

This is B by Bloom Sydney:

Sydney2ct

Two coats. A delicious chocolate brown creme. So, so wintery! Formula was a little runny so I had a fair bit of flooding in my cuticles which was difficult to clean up. It did wear well though, which is always awesome to see in an Aussie polish Open-mouthed smile

The B by Bloom polishes are amazing but sadly are being discontinued Sad smile Luckily, a lot of the polishes have dupes in the regular Bloom range, which are still readily available. Apparently they are clearing out all the B polishes in Target so run down to your local and see if you can grab a bargain!

Bloom–Copenhagen

I had a job interview last week so I needed an interview appropriate polish colour. I wasn’t sure whether to go for a neutral beige or tan or a light pink. I ended up going with the light pink and I hated it!!!

This is B by Bloom Copenhagen

Copenhagen2ct

Two coats. The formula wasn’t too bad, a little streaky but nothing major and nothing a coat of Seche Vite couldn’t sort out.

Now, this polish was a very pale pink with microglitter through it. It looked great in the bottle but it gave me major lobster hands and the colour just didn’t suit me. I was so disappointed Sad smile I think this colour would look great on someone with more of an olive skintone.

Have you had any polish fails lately?

Bloom–Adelaide

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try this polish. It’s been sitting in my untrieds drawer for about three months now.

This is B by Bloom’s Adelaide:

Adelaide2ct

Ahhhh. It took me about five seconds to decide that I was an idiot for waiting so long to try this polish.

This is two coats and it was the most perfect formula I have ever come across. I had minimal clean up because it was just such a beautiful formula to work with.

This polish is also awesome because it’s named after where I grew up and visit regularly from my home in the desert.

Here’s a better photo which shows the stunning glitter/microshimmer in the nail.

Adelaide2ct2

If you look closely at the bottle, there is a lot of gold shimmer in it, but none of this translates on to the nail. I’m kind of glad because the shimmer which appears is more than enough. It is gorgeous!

I’ve seen this on a lot of Aussie blogs, and I’m glad I finally got to try it.  Long live Aussie polish brands!

The Face Shop PP401 + Bloom Elle with Konad

When I was in Adelaide doing my courses I did mum’s nails. I chose a pink, purple and white colour combo and I think it turned out pretty well.

What do you think?

Purple Bloom

This was two coats of The Face Shop’s PP401, a lovely purple, and three coats of Bloom’s Elle, a gorgeous, sheer iridescent white on the ring fingers with stamping in Konad Princess Special Polish – Psyche Pink.

Mum said it looked like that patterned cellophane you use to wrap presents. I think that sums it up perfectly!

Bloom Tel Aviv and Antwerp with nail art

I had my friend Kate around to do nails last Sunday. I love doing her nails because she lets me do whatever I want Open-mouthed smile

I went with Two polishes from the B Bloom Collection: Tel Aviv and Antwerp:

TelAviv2ct

This is two coats of Tel Aviv and three of Antwerp. I failed at capturing the gorgeous glitter in Tel Aviv, but you can see it in the bottle. It is so dark it’s almost black, but such a beautiful colour.

Antwerp is white with a very fine pearl shimmer through it. It’s not very noticeable at all but subtly pretty.

First I used my new fancy french tips stickers and then attacked her with my dotting tool. She loved it Open-mouthed smile

Because I’m a perfectionist, I think it’s too messy, but as long as she’s happy, I’m happy!

Does anyone else find it a lot harder doing someone elses nails? Doesn’t make sense because you get to use your dominant hand the whole time, but I think it’s a control thing. I can put my hand wherever is easiest for me, but if it’s someone else’s hand it’s more awkward.

Also, does anyone think the fancy french nail looks like a tuxedo!?

Bloom–Maui with Konad

This is one of the Bloom polishes I got on clearance in Target during the great Adelaide haul.

Can I just say how much I love these b collection by Bloom polishes?! They have such a great range of colours and the formula is amazing. They are normally $12.95 each, which is reasonable for an Aussie polish, but this was out for $3.38 on clearance in Target. How can you go wrong at a price like that!?

Anywhoo, on to the prettiness:

BloomMaui

Cute, right? Such a gorgeous, lolly pink. I was so in the mood for a nice pink. This was two easy coats. Application was a breeze and I barely had any clean up to do because of how nice it was. It’s long wearing too – I still don’t have any chips and it’s almost the end of day two! And I am hard on my nails. Love!

I attacked it with Konad, of course:

BloomMauiKonad

Such a pretty, pretty stamp. And I love the colour combination. I felt so girly wearing this. I’m not a girly girl by any means, and I never used to have any pink polishes, but lately I’ve been going crazy for them!!

I realise this photo is blurry and crappy so I took another one after I’d been wearing the mani for three days:

BloomMauiKonad2

Look at that! Only the tiniest amount of tip wear and a really small chip (only the top layer chipped so there was still a layer underneath it). Brilliant wear Open-mouthed smile I’m so excited to try the rest of my Bloom polishes now.

Do you love a good pink?

Goodies galore!

I finally received my Ozsale order the other day. I’m not sure if I’m going to be ordering from them again, to be honest. While they have good prices, these took forever to get to me. They do warn you that items won’t be despatched until after the sale closes, but these took about five weeks to get to me from only a couple of states east from where I am. Not impressed! They ran out of one Bloom polish so they’re meant to be refunding it. I’ll have to keep an eye on that!

Anyway, onto the haul:

Bloom

Bloom1

Adelaide, Sydney and Cairo.

Bloom2

Vienna, Antwerp, Tel Aviv and Bianca.

BloomBuffer

A four way buffing block. I’ve already used it and I must say, I’m really impressed!

Revlon

Revlon1

Ocean Breeze, Galaxy, Perplex, Rock and Grape Icy. I’m so annoyed! I bought a mini Revlon three pack the other week and there is a purple in it called “Rock Star”. You guessed it, it’s the same as “Rock”!!! Gerrrr!

Revlon2

This is Galaxy up close. What a pretty, pretty polish. Can’t wait to layer this over a nice dark polish.

I also received my order of the Color Club Foiled collection. Before I show you them, look how the lady I bought them from wrapped them:

Packaging

Isn’t that ADORABLE?! It’s the little things, people.

Anyway, here’s the foily goodness:

CCFoiled

Wheeee!!!! I’m sooo excited about these! I probably should have shaken these up a little before the photos but you get the idea!

And finally, I got my giveaway prize from Julia’s giveaway: three PiCture pOlish nail polishes! I even got to choose the colours Open-mouthed smile Here’s what I chose:

PicturePolish

When I opened these, I just stared. How beautiful are these colours?! I love everything about them. I love the colours, the bottles, the rubber tops, the font on the label (I’ve done graphic design at uni so I’m alllll about the fonts!)

They just look amazing. The three colours look so stunning next to each other too. I wonder if I did that subconsciously?

I’m sorry I’m gushing about these polishes, but they are just sooo pretty.

Alright, I’ll stop now … until I try them Winking smile

And that is it for hauling for at least October! I’m thinking it will stretch well into November too. I currently have 119 untried polishes, and I need to get through some of those before I buy any more!

How many untrieds do you have?

Bloom Edinburgh with Nubar 2010

Ah, I’m finally getting stuck into some of the polishes I bought on my Adelaide trip last weekend.

My partner chose this one when I was having trouble deciding which to try first.

Edinburgh2coat

Bloom Edinburgh. A gorgeous, gorgeous dark green (almost black) with a stunning shimmer through it.

This was two coats, but it is definitely a one-coater. You know me, I just like to do two even if it’s not necessary! This applied like a dream, so smooth and lovely.

I wanted to keep wearing it so after day one I added some flakies:

Edinburgh2010

Nubar 2010. *Droooooool*. I love me some flakies.

But do you know what I love more?

Edinburgh2010matte

Some matte flakies. I added a coat of China Glaze’s Matte Magic as the top coat.

I may have to get a bucket to attach to my chin because I love this. Seriously, matte flakies may just be my new ‘thing’. Don’t be surprised if you see 2010 layered on top of EVERYTHING and then mattified Smile with tongue out

Which do you prefer, matte or shiny flakies?
