OPI Mermaid Tears and Chi Chi

Another OPI for you ladies today! This is Mermaid Tears from the Pirates of the Carribean collection:

MermaidsTears

Two coats. Perfect. I can’t rave enough about these Pirates polishes. They are my all time favourite OPIs. Love!

This is an unnamed Chi Chi polish I got in a set at Christmas time last year:

purple

This is a lovely purple creme. Two coats. The whole set of polishes (I believe there were 8) is gorgeous. Such a good buy for $19.95!

Aussie favourites–Chi Chi Plastic Fantastic and Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun

I have a couple of Aussie stunners to show you today.

The first is from Chi Chi, an awesome brand who have a huge range of polishes and other cosmetics.

This is Plastic Fantastic:

PlasticFantastic

Such a pretty deep mint aqua-y green. I found it hard to describe this colour, can you tell!? Two coats. A great, creamy formula.

I stamped some pretty flowers on top.

And this is Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun:

LiquidLeprechaun

This is from Pretty Serious’ Halloween collection. It truly is like someone threw a leprechaun into a blender and hit the go button. Poor little leprechaun Sad smile

This has a boat load of green and gold glitters. I just love it! It only needed two coats and application was fantastic so I needed to do minimal clean up. Winner!

Go Aussies!

duri–Devil Wears duri with Chi Chi Crystal Top Coat

I’ve never worn a duri polish before. My friend Kate got this for me from the US when she was there last year. It looked like such a pretty colour in the bottle!

This is Devil Wears duri:

DevilWearsDuri2ct

Two coats, I believe. But could have easily been one. The formula wasn’t too shabby. It’s got a nice shimmer but it just doesn’t really do much for me!

So I tried to fix it:

DevilWearsDuri2ctChichi

Yeaaaah, still not doing much for me. A coat of Chi Chi Crystal Top Coat (which you could barely see) and I still wasn’t impressed.

So what did I do?

DevilWearsDuri2ctChichiMatte

Ohh yeah, mattify it! MUCH better Open-mouthed smile

Matte flakies are the bomb, would you agree?

Chi Chi–Everyday I’m Shufflin’

Don’t you love it when you get polish as a present and the person just completely hits the nail on the head? My partner’s mother got me a few polishes for my birthday which I got during my last Adelaide trip. And honestly, one of the polishes is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

This is Chi Chi Everyday I’m Shufflin’:

EverydayImShufflin2ct

Droooooool! Look at that BEAUTIFUL blue/green duochromey goodness? it is so, so gorgeous. This was two coats and the formula was amazing.

Chi Chi, you are amazing.

Here is another shot of the gorgeousness:

Ahhh. Doesn’t it just make you happy? No? Only me? I’m okay with that Smile with tongue out

Have you tried Everyday I’m Shufflin’?

Chi Chi Disco Diva

Apologies, apologies… I have neglected my blog the past couple of days because I was in Adelaide doing my hot stone massage and cupping courses! They were AMAZING. The man who taught us was a wealth of knowledge and I picked up so many hints and tricks that I never ever considered! I have been knocked out the past couple of days with a super-cold. The hot stones brought it out of me but I’m healing a lot quicker than normal, which I completely think is due to the stones. I’m a total convert and I can’t wait to start practicing it!

Anyway, onto the polish! Talk about bling bling. This Chi Chi polish, Disco Diva, is amazing!

Check out the craziness happening on my nails:

DiscoDiva2ct

Woo! This was two coats. Crappy formula, very thick and gluggy, but nothing a bit of thinner won’t fix! It took three coats of SV to smooth it out because it was a little gritty.

As most glitter polishes do, this wore well. I applied it Thursday evening and ended up taking it off on Sunday night because I had a few very, very large chips and I picked the rest off until there as hardly anything left. Ha!

Chi Chi Moondust

I think I’ve found a new favourite.

I’ve recently been disappointed by some glitter polishes not being nearly as bling-y as they look in the bottle (I’m talking about you, C-c-courage), but this Chi Chi polish is … wow. I don’t have any other words to describe it, so I’ll let you see for yourself.

Moondust2ct

Wooooooooooooooow.

This is two coats of Chi Chi Moondust. Now this was what I was expecting from C-c-courage. A black jelly base with tonnes of purple glitter. So, so blingy.

I used two coats of Seche Vite because this was a hungry little glitter, but the second coat made it nice and glossy.

Here’s another gratuitous glitter shot:

Moondust2ct_2

Yum. Can I just, like, eat this or something?!

This actually wasn’t a total PITA to remove. I used the foil method and it started to slide off by itself after a minute or so. A glitter that isn’t horrible to remove? You will always have a place in my heart.

I’ve been saying lately that I’m “over” glitters. Well, I’m not. I’m not over glorious glitters like this. I think I’m more over using glitter as a top coat. Because, honestly, who could hate this?!
