Onto the second part of my spam from The Heat Group, the Ulta3s! Aussie nail fanatics are very familiar with these $2 bargains. Ulta3 is awesome quality polish for a fraction of the price of most others. Ulta3 has been awesome at keeping up with the latest trends and have come out with some really cool polishes lately.

 

Here is a shade from their recent pastels collection, Corsican rose:

Gorgeous, right? This is a dusty mint green. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that I LOVE cremes and I LOVE pastels. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with a good creme and pastels are perfect for the warmer weather. It also helps that it flatters my skin tone like nothing else and makes my nails look twice as long as they are

This was two easy coats of a great formula. Pastels can be notoriously difficult to apply but this was an exception. I do have a lot of shades like this but in my opinion, you can’t have enough of them

 

This is one of Ulta3’s oldest and most common shades, Lollypop Lilac:

It’s a glitzy foil which is more of a dusty purple than a lilac. Talk about bling bling! This was two coats but it would easily be a one coater.

 

I did some weird nail art with it:

I used Essence Sweet Or Nude? for the base colour, which I liked a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a shimmery pale pink which is a touch frosty but not too much. Two coats. Then I dotted some random Lollypop Lilac dots on it. I’d say it’s a bit of a fail but oh well, I gave it a go

Essence spam!

Hi there my pretties!
Today I have some Essence polishes to share with you. Sarah from The Heat Group was kind enough to send me some polishes to review, so here is the first instalment.

Metal Glams
This is from the BRAND NEW collection, Metal Glam:

Petal to the Metal. I actually liked this polish a lot more than I thought I would! It’s a pretty, delicate pink-toned lilac. It went on quite smoothly with not too many brush strokes. This was two coats but it was almost a one-coater! Almost unheard of for such a light shade. This would be fantastic to use for stamping, I think.


Steel-ing the Scene. Not going to lie, this isn’t really my kind of colour, but I didn’t mind this. It wasn’t a brassy bronze  so it went a lot better with my skin tone than most bronzes. This one was streakier than Petal to the Metal but still not too bad. I wasn’t too careful when applying it so I think you could get a lot less brush strokes than I did.

This is one of Essence’s core collection, Red Ahead:

Er. It’s brown. I didn’t realise it was meant to be red until I read the label! To me, it’s a beautiful chocolate brown creme. I love it! Browns are one of my favourites (even though a lot of people don’t like them) and this will be perfect for winter. I’m really unsure as to where the ‘red’ in the name comes from, but I don’t mind as I’m chuffed it’s a brown instead! This was two easy coats.

essence Bashful & Sneezy

Okay, so I’m a bit late to the party with this one. I actually got the essence Snow White collection back when it first came out but it took me a while to get around to trying them and even longer to get around to blogging them.

 

There were quite a few polishes in this collection so I tried two at once.

 

Bashful (green) and Sneezy (brown)

Two coats of each. I just loved these. They were so lovely and creamy and the green had gorgeous golden micro flakies through it.

 

Isn’t this ADORABLE!? I used the Bundle Monster plates with a MyOnline Shop gold stamping polish. I just love owls so I was really pleased with this mani.

essence I Love Bad Boys

I do love essence polishes but man, they give them some bad names.
This one is called I Love Bad Boys:

Gorgeous, gorgeous blue polish with a touch of green and a lovely shimmer. Two coats.
But the name. Honestly, essence, what were you thinking!?

I’m glad no one asked me the name of this one because it’s embarrassing!! Do you have any polishes you’re embarrassed to talk about?

essence-Where is the Party?

Essence is the bomb, we all know that. Affordable polishes with an awesome range. How can you go wrong?

I picked up this beauty the last time I was in Adelaide (about three months ago now!!) and have only just gotten around to wearing it.

This is Where is the Party?:

Pretty purple!

But wait… what’s that!?

 

Here’s some green!

Seriously?

Yup! This duochrome shifts from purple to green quite obviously. It’s hard to capture it but it’s there. This was two easy coats. No issues with the formula and it wore quite well.

 

I’m not sure if this colour is available anymore since Essence switched to their new shaped bottles, so if you can snap it up I’d highly recommend it!

essence–Absolutely Blue with stamping

Have I told you how much I love essence polishes? They are cheap, good quality, easily available (for anyone who doesn’t live in the desert) and have a good variety of colours.

 

I picked up this beauty a couple of months ago while I was in Adelaide. Essence called it “Absolutely Blue” but it’s definitely more of a blurple.

Don’t you think? This is two coats. Awesome formula and awesome wear. I couldn’t believe how long this looked good on my nails for.

 

I did some simple stamping and I’m struggling to remember which set of plates this was from. Possibly MASH? Anyway, if you’re interested give me a hoy!

Cute little birdies! I really liked this because it was so simple but so funky and classy at the same time. It felt very Spring-like, appropriate because we’re having some beautiful days here.

essence–True Love

How many times have you worn a polish and thought “meh, I don’t love it!” and then looked at the photos and gone “wow!”

You can really see the beauty in this polish in the photos.

Two coats. Awesome formula!

It’s really too bad I didn’t like this polish that much when I wore it, because the photos really are lovely. You can see the depth of the polish in the photos but it doesn’t seem to shine through in real life.

essence–The Dawn is Broken

Meh. This polish is meh. So disappointing because the others in essence’s Vampire’s Love collection are stunning. This one was a bit like they suddenly thought “Oh crap, we need another colour! Oh, this one will do!”

Two coats. Formula was okay, a little thick. Chips the next day. I just can’t get excited about this polish!

Essence–Chasing Waves & Splash Refresh striping

The lovely Sarah from Shatter Me Claire did some more polish shopping for me recently. She was kind enough to pick up the essence Sun Club collection for me.

 

I decided to do some freehand nail art and try out two of the colours at once:

This is Chasing Waves (darker green) and Splash Refresh (lighter green). I painted two coats of Splash Refresh as my base and then freehanded the stripes on top with Chasing Waves.

These colours looked awesome together and the formulas were great. I was relatively pleased with how the stripes turned out. I don’t do any freehand so it was a good start!

 

I am so glad you  can get essence easily in Australia now, and it’s well priced!! Winner

essence–Into the Dark

Oh, drool. Essence has come up with yet another amazing polish in their Vampire Love collection. I am so glad I picked up this collection when I was in Adelaide last because I have loved every one so far.

 

This is Into the Dark:

Two coats of perfection. It is a beautiful dark blue-grey (bley? Okay, so I’m taking the combining colours thing a bit too far now ). Amazing formula and opaque in two coats. This was an absolute dream to apply and I felt that the colour really complimented my skin tone. I think this is one for everyone and an especially good way for people who are afraid to venture outside of ‘classic’ polish colours to broaden their horizons.

Essence–Gold Old Buffy

I do love Essence polishes. I’m glad Targets in Adelaide are finally all stocking this brand.

 

This is one of the polishes from their Vampire’s Love collection. I picked up most of this collection when I was in Adelaide over Christmas because it had some unique colours.

This is Gold Old Buffy:

First of all, love the name! This is two coats, a really dark green with gold shimmer. It is absolutely stunning and unique. Love it

Awesome formula and it wore like steel for three days. I did apply it over my gel polish which may have helped its wear time, but I was still impressed!

Zoya Rihana with Essence Time for Romance

While I was in Adelaide I painted B’s mum’s nails. She was kind enough to let us stay at her house for a week so it was the least I could do!

 

She picked Zoya Rihana as a base, a stunning burgundy shimmer:

This was two coats. It almost covered in one but there were a couple of bald spots. Beautiful smooth formula.

 

I layered my new Essence Time for Romance glitter on top:

This is just one coat! See how much glitter comes out!? I love it!!!

 

And finally, I stamped a couple of gorgeous Konad images from image plate S10:

Naww, a bunny and a kitty. B’s mum loves bunnies and kitties. She has three bunnies and two kitties. I fell in love with one of the kitties, Cassie, while I was staying there. She was so adorable and would snuggle up on my chest and wrap herself around my neck while I was sitting on the couch. I wanted to take her home with us!!

Adelaide Christmas Haul!

I picked up some awesome polishes while in Adelaide over Christmas and New Years. Some were presents, some were ones I bought for myself. Are you ready? Here we go!

BYS

A Drop in the Ocean. I’ve been wanting this blue for ages and finally picked it up. It looks like a gorgeous, gorgeous vibrant blue.

Essence
I have been lusting after Essence glitters ever since I saw them on quite a few Aussie blogs. I picked up the two that appealed to me most:

Blue Addicted and Time for Romance. Jam packed full of glitter. I’m in lurv!

I also got some from the Vampire’s Love collection because they had some pretty unique colours which jumped out at me. Excuse the shocking photo.

The Dawn is Broken, Gold Old Buffy, Into the Dark and True Love. I cannot wait to try Into the Dark, which is a beautiful blue with a silver glitter through it.

Mimco
Do you know, I didn’t even know Mimco made polishes?! B’s mum got these for me as a Chrissie present and I love them.

Russian Red and Nude. I’ve tried the Russian Red on my toes already and it is stunning. It’s a one coater (which stains the cuticle like crazy, mind you!!). I can’t wait to try Nude.

Inglot

203 (flakies, eeee!) and XL7.
I’m a bit mad at myself because I wanted the blue flakie. I picked it up and gave it to the shop assistant and she said they had run out… she showed me XL7 quickly and said “it’s pretty much the same but it’s the same price for a bigger bottle”. I should have clicked that there was no way they were going to be selling the same polish in a bigger bottle for the same price!! XL7 is gorgeous, but it’s definitely not a flakie. Grr. So now my hankering for the blue flakie still remains.

Revlon
$4.95 for a Revlon polish when they are up to $17 in pharmacies – can’t go wrong!


I picked up these three Glimmer Glosses because they looked so perdy. This is Blueberry Burst, Apricot Freeze and Pina Colada Pop. Can’t wait to layer these babies!

Sportsgirl
My sister got these for me for Christmas. I’ve never tried the Sportsgirl polishes before but they look like gorgeous colours!


?? and Lucky Star. I can’t actually see the name of the beautiful dark teal polish because it’s rubbed off the label. Can anyone help me out here?

Ulta3
Ulta3 have released yet another gorgeous collection, their Gelati Collection.
These have to be my absolute favourite Ulta3 colours yet. They are perfect for summer!


Violet Rumble, Kiwi Kaos and Lemon Tart.


Blue Heaven, Strawberry Sundae and Mango Mayhem.
These are all gorgeous colours, what I’d call bright pastels. I can definitely see a skittle mani in the future!

NYC Color
I picked these three polishes up in a service station on our way out of Adelaide on New Years Day. For any non-Aussies, a service station is a gas station/petrol station.
They were 3 for $6 so I jumped at them!


Gold Coin, Bronzed and Copper Penny. So perdy. B picked them out for me and I can’t wait to do some tape manis with these.

How do you like my haul? That will be all the hauling I’ll do for a while now. I have so many polishes to try!!
