Essence spam!

Hi there my pretties!
Today I have some Essence polishes to share with you. Sarah from The Heat Group was kind enough to send me some polishes to review, so here is the first instalment.

Metal Glams
This is from the BRAND NEW collection, Metal Glam:

Petal to the Metal. I actually liked this polish a lot more than I thought I would! It’s a pretty, delicate pink-toned lilac. It went on quite smoothly with not too many brush strokes. This was two coats but it was almost a one-coater! Almost unheard of for such a light shade. This would be fantastic to use for stamping, I think.


Steel-ing the Scene. Not going to lie, this isn’t really my kind of colour, but I didn’t mind this. It wasn’t a brassy bronze  so it went a lot better with my skin tone than most bronzes. This one was streakier than Petal to the Metal but still not too bad. I wasn’t too careful when applying it so I think you could get a lot less brush strokes than I did.

This is one of Essence’s core collection, Red Ahead:

Er. It’s brown. I didn’t realise it was meant to be red until I read the label! To me, it’s a beautiful chocolate brown creme. I love it! Browns are one of my favourites (even though a lot of people don’t like them) and this will be perfect for winter. I’m really unsure as to where the ‘red’ in the name comes from, but I don’t mind as I’m chuffed it’s a brown instead! This was two easy coats.

essence Bashful & Sneezy

Okay, so I’m a bit late to the party with this one. I actually got the essence Snow White collection back when it first came out but it took me a while to get around to trying them and even longer to get around to blogging them.

 

There were quite a few polishes in this collection so I tried two at once.

 

Bashful (green) and Sneezy (brown)

Two coats of each. I just loved these. They were so lovely and creamy and the green had gorgeous golden micro flakies through it.

 

Isn’t this ADORABLE!? I used the Bundle Monster plates with a MyOnline Shop gold stamping polish. I just love owls so I was really pleased with this mani.

L’Oreal-Mysterious Icon

It’s another Loreal! Shock horror When I first got these I spent about a week trying the different ones just because of how beautiful the colours were.

 

This is a rather popular shade amongst the Aussies on Facebook, Mysterious Icon:

How friggin beautiful is that?! It’s a gorgeous mocha colour with a gold shimmer. It looks so different to how it does in the bottle but I love it to pieces. I actually stamped little paw prints all over this but for some silly reason didn’t take a photo of it?!

Anywhoo, this is two coats using L’Oreals fabulous new brush. I can’t rave enough about it! It is so nice to have a polish which accommodates for wider nails. <3

B by Bloom-Sydney

I’ve been a bad blogger and didn’t get my shit together so I could participate in the Great Aussie Polish Challenge with the rest of the Aussie girls. I really, really wanted to participate but I have been feeling a bit under the pump this week and, while I had lots of Aussie mani photos ready to go, I just didn’t get time to sit down and blog It’s almost 11pm and I only got to sit down a little while ago to check Facebook, emails etc.

 

Anyway, enough of my whingeing about how busy I am

Here is an Aussie polish for you all! Better late then never, right?

This is B by Bloom Sydney:

Two coats. A delicious chocolate brown creme. So, so wintery! Formula was a little runny so I had a fair bit of flooding in my cuticles which was difficult to clean up. It did wear well though, which is always awesome to see in an Aussie polish

The B by Bloom polishes are amazing but sadly are being discontinued Luckily, a lot of the polishes have dupes in the regular Bloom range, which are still readily available. Apparently they are clearing out all the B polishes in Target so run down to your local and see if you can grab a bargain!

piCture pOlish–Malt-teaser with Red Angel stamping

I haven’t used a piCture pOlish for a while (and we all know how obsessed I am with them!) so I whipped one out today.

For some reason I was feelin’ a bit more of a classy but different colour.

Malt-teaser fit the bill perfectly:

Oh yeah This is a gorgeous shade of brown. Two coats and an amazing formula. Loved it! This is so work appropriate for pretty much any job (and if you have a job which wouldn’t allow a colour like this, I feel for you!!!!).

 

I couldn’t leave it alone, of course, so I did some stamping with my Red Angel image plates:

Model’s Own Beetlejuice–Pinky Brown

Ah, finally. I received the Model’s Own Beetlejuice collection in the mail last week and I had to try one straight away. Or, like, the world would end. Seriously. Haha

 

This is Pinky Brown:

Drool! Excuse my crappy photos … I am terrible at capturing duochromes. I’m not sure why they call this Pinky Brown, because it clearly has a lot of gold in it! And it is also a crap name. I mean, honestly, if you’re going to name a collection something as awesome as Beetlejuice, at least put some effort into the polish names! Don’t think your work is done when you choose the collection name.

So sparkly! I love that these are glittery duochromes. It adds so much depth!

Dodgy photo but it was the best that I had to show you the colour shifting! So beautiful.

 

I can’t wait to try the others in the collection. I’m thinking I’ll have to try the Aqua Violet next. Two of my favourite colours at once? Yes please!

Have you succumbed to the Beetlejuice collection yet? I was literally out at dinner and had my phone out watching the countdown and I jumped on to buy straight away. How sad is that?! I think that’s when I realised I have a nail polish problem

BYS Raspberry Sorbet

Wait, hold the presses!

 

A mani without glitter or Konad-ing!!

It happened, people. But who knows when it will happen again? Especially now that I have my Konad kit .

 

Anyway, this is BYS Raspberry Sorbet, 2 coats. Gorgeous colour! The photo shows off more of the brown than burgundy. It’s quite dark in real life, a very very dark browny red. A delicious colour! And so easy to apply. Loved it  

It’s pretty unique, I don’t have another like it in my collection, so I’m pretty happy to own this beauty. A good Winter colour, too!
