OPI DS Extravagance

Hello there!

Wow, it feels like a long time since I blogged! I’ve been painting my nails a lot lately but I just haven’t really been inspired to blog. Not sure why, I just haven’t ‘felt’ it!

Anywhoo, let’s start this off with a beautiful OPI DS polish I picked up on Catch of the Day, an Aussie deals website, a few months ago.

This is DS Extravagance:

Two coats. Beautiful! This had a great formula and awesome staying power. I just love these polishes. I’m not quite sure what to call this finish though? It’s kind of glitter but not … the only appropriate term I feel that I can use is ‘diamond dust’, which is how OPI market these polishes (as containing diamond dust).

I still have a few DS’ left to try, but as I’ve said before I tend to keep them for occasions when I’m feeling down and need a little cheering up. Hey, everyone has their ways of cheering themselves up, right!?

essence–True Love

How many times have you worn a polish and thought “meh, I don’t love it!” and then looked at the photos and gone “wow!”

You can really see the beauty in this polish in the photos.

Two coats. Awesome formula!

It’s really too bad I didn’t like this polish that much when I wore it, because the photos really are lovely. You can see the depth of the polish in the photos but it doesn’t seem to shine through in real life.

What do you think? Do you agree or do you think I’m crazy?

Zoya Rihana with Essence Time for Romance

While I was in Adelaide I painted B’s mum’s nails. She was kind enough to let us stay at her house for a week so it was the least I could do!

She picked Zoya Rihana as a base, a stunning burgundy shimmer:

This was two coats. It almost covered in one but there were a couple of bald spots. Beautiful smooth formula.

I layered my new Essence Time for Romance glitter on top:

This is just one coat! See how much glitter comes out!? I love it!!!

And finally, I stamped a couple of gorgeous Konad images from image plate S10:

Naww, a bunny and a kitty. B’s mum loves bunnies and kitties. She has three bunnies and two kitties. I fell in love with one of the kitties, Cassie, while I was staying there. She was so adorable and would snuggle up on my chest and wrap herself around my neck while I was sitting on the couch. I wanted to take her home with us!!

What do you think?

Spectrafranken–The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Yet another Spectrafranken Open-mouthed smile I only have three left to try: Albino Smurf, Unicorn Tears and Goblin Snot. So stay tuned for more of these by the end of the week.

This is The Legend of Ron Burgundy (you can thank my partner for that amazing name):

Hrmmm … another one that looked better in the bottle then on my nails. And like He’s My Lobster, it took full sunlight to see the rainbow holo goodness.

This is two coats. I have to say again, I really hate the brushes in the bottles I ordered. The shape of the bottles are so cute but I will never buy these bottles again because of how irritating they are to use.

I’m going to have to source another supplier for them. The place which was recommended to me is out of stock of the bottles I like. Boo! Anyone got any ideas?

Anyway, the recipe is easy peasy. 5mL bottle, pour some NYC Color’s Professor Plum up to the widest part of the bottle at the top, add three tiny straw spoonfuls of Spectraflair and shake it all around. Could not be easier! It could have used a bit more Spectraflair.

I hope you’re enjoying the holo goodness. To be honest, I’m ready for a break from the holos. I’m craving some good old fashioned colours. Did I seriously just say that!?

Rokk96 I’ll Be Frank

Yet another awesome find from my Adelaide trip.

I got a few of these Rokk96 polishes from Price Attack. They’re $7.95 each or $19 for 3 so they’re a good deal.

I picked up this gorgeous looking polish.

I'llBeFrank2ct

Beautiful! Unfortunately the gold shimmer doesn’t appear on the nail, but you can’t win ‘em all!

This is two coats but could have easily been one. Awesome coverage! It’s a little thick but evens out fine on the second coat. It is fairly staining on the cuticles so I had a bit of clean up work to do.

I can’t wait to try out the other Rokk96 polishes I have and buy some more next time I’m in Adelaide. I love finding affordable Aussie polishes Open-mouthed smile

Have you tried these?
