Kleancolor Metallic Aqua with stamping

Oh my lord, this is the most beautiful metallic ever.

I give you, Kleancolor Metallic Aqua (two coats):

 

Pretty, huh?? Although it is much more of a blue than aqua. This was okay to apply. I had a bit of drag when going over already painted bits so that was a bit annoying. I was also doing it while on the phone so I made a mess of my right hand and of course, this polish stained like a biatch. So that was fun!!! Blue skin, anyone? My own fault for not paying attention though

I also stamped some silver clouds on my nails. This is a really bad photo (unfortunately I had no daylight so had to work with a very crappy lamp) so you can’t see it properly. I used the silver Konad Princess Special Polish and a new stamping plate I got from APM Express. It has 221 designs on it, including a lot of full nail designs which I love. They are exact duplicates of Konad designs! Love

I wanted to take a photo to show you the plate but of course, shiny surfaces don’t play nice with my camera!!!

The Face Shop BL602 Glitter Fade FAIL!

Ah, you can’t win ‘em all.

There are days where I’m on fire with nails. Days where my manis are so, so quick and perfect.

Aaaaand then there are days like this:

 

I took this off as soon as I’d taken the photo.

This was two coats (+ touch ups) of The Face Shop BL602 (a bright blue) and then I tried to do a glitter fade with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell. I liked the effect, but it was just so thick that it wouldn’t dry. I kept smudging the crap out of it (see middle and  ring fingers, urgh) and it was all bumpy).

*sigh*

I really wanted it to work, but it just wasn’t meant to be!

LA Colors Color Craze Cayenne Pepper

I was a bit worried about this colour. I bought it in my last Cherry Culture haul and when I got it I kind of thought “meh”. It just seemed like a bit of a dull colour, and it looks more brown in the bottle.

I’m happy to say that I love it.

 

This is two coats which gave me full coverage. It was so easy to apply so it was pretty neat around the edges! It doesn’t wear particularly well, with tip wear the next day.

 

Of course, the next day I couldn’t leave it alone …

 

Prettttyy   This is with one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Black Holo on top. I’ve seen this polish all over the nail blogs lately an I’m sooo glad I bought it! It just adds a whole new dimension to the mani.

Kleancolor Metallic Green + Disco Ball

Warning: Disaster area ahead.

 

Urgh. Urgh urgh urgh.

Ho ho ho, it’s the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen! I look like a freakin’ Christmas tree.

 

What possessed me to do this?! As if the Kleancolor Metallic Green wasn’t loud enough, I went and added Kleancolor Disco Ball to it.

It looks disgusting.

I was self conscious of my nails all day, and naturally, I got a few comments. They were comments like “Oh! Look at your nails!”, not compliments like usual! I could not wait to get this off my fingers.

Massive fail.

 

Anyway, the application was great (of course, a colour I hate is awesome to apply!!) and it was probably my neatest mani ever. It’s more of a foil than a metallic and it has full coverage in two coats. This is just one coat of Disco Ball on top. It’s strange, Disco Ball is actually purple and blue glitter (see photo below, second from left) but the glitter turned bronze and red on my nails?! It looked more like I applied Firework (left).

 

 

I’m definitely going to need to give this polish another chance and wear it over a better colour.

Oh, and it’s true what they say, these polishes stink. I dislike the bottles too because they hurt my poor little hands when the lid is stuck on tight and I have to wrench it open. Solution: use a square of anti-slip rubber matting to open hard to open things. My partner taught me that

 

Anyway, sorry this post was so, well, ugly. But I figure I might as well show you the fails as well as the successes!! I’m only human, after all.

Beauty Joint order!

Woohoooo I rushed home from work today to see whether I had a note left for me to pick something up from the post office, and I did

I got stuck leaving work behind a huge line of people trailing a huge truck doing 20km/hr. It was painful, I tell ya. But I made it to the post office with five minutes to spare and to my surprise, my Beauty Joint order was waiting! I thought it was going to be my Coastal Scents holo and glitter pigments, but I got a pleasant surprise.

 

Anyhoo, onto the haul.

 

Cherimoya crackles in Eternity, Apocalypse, Typhoon and Judgement Day. Awesome names These are oil based so I was very curious about them. They look like amazing colours.

 

Kleancolor (it feels so wrong to write that without a ‘u’) Firework, Disco Ball, Sparkle Purple and Holiday Jingle. These look fun and good for layering

 

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black and Chunky Holo Bluebell. Everyone seems to love the black and it does look pretty sweet, so I had to give it a go.

 

Kleancolor Metallic Aqua and Metallic Green. These two look soooooo pretty. I can’t wait to try them! They are just the shades I’ve been looking for, can’t wait to see if they live up to my expectations!

 

Would you believe it only cost me $45 for this whole lot including shipping? 12 polishes, that’s an average of $3.75 a polish and that’s including postage!
