NYC Color–Lemon

Alert, alert, problem polish ahead!!! This polish was a pain in the bum to apply and would not even out no matter what I did!
The colour was not good enough to make it worth the trouble!
What is the culprit?

NYC Color’s Lemon:

The photos flatter it, trust me. This was two thick, unmanageable coats. Blurgh. Never again! I’m wondering if this is the same polish as the Ulta3 in their new Gelato collection. I have that one too and it looks very much the same and all the reviews I’ve read say the formula is terrible.

 

I tried to jazz it up a bit but it was just a fail:

I freehanded some french tips with an unnamed Asian bright yellow glitter polish. Looks pretty revolting!

Maybelline mini Colorama–Peach Cocktail

Do you ever get those times where every single polish you wear, you’re absolutely in love with? I was having one of those weeks last week and I was sad each time I took a polish off!!

This is a Maybelline mini Colorama which was gifted to me as an extra when I bought a few things in a blog sale. I’d never used a mini Colorama before and I was pleasantly surprised.

Droooooool! Look at that beautiful shimmer! How perfect is this for summer? We’re having scorching weather at the moment, averaging 42 degrees Celcius the past few days, so it is the perfect summer shade.

Formula was amazing, two coats. It wore really well. No complaints here!!

essence–Into the Dark

Oh, drool. Essence has come up with yet another amazing polish in their Vampire Love collection. I am so glad I picked up this collection when I was in Adelaide last because I have loved every one so far.

 

This is Into the Dark:

Two coats of perfection. It is a beautiful dark blue-grey (bley? Okay, so I’m taking the combining colours thing a bit too far now ). Amazing formula and opaque in two coats. This was an absolute dream to apply and I felt that the colour really complimented my skin tone. I think this is one for everyone and an especially good way for people who are afraid to venture outside of ‘classic’ polish colours to broaden their horizons.

Love Thy Polish–Smurfin’ It Up

I’m ba-aaaack! Yes, I’ve been slack on the posting lately but my full time job contract has just come to an end and I’ll start part time work this week. I’m throwing in the towel in regards to full time work because I just can’t do it anymore! 40 hours a week at work + 6-7 massages + trying to get my custom polish business up and running means that I was one stressed out chick. I was getting loads of headaches and just basically feeling too overwhelmed to get out of bed some mornings. Anyway, enough of my babble.

I’m going to show you one of my Love Thy Polish custom nail polishes today.

This is Smurfin’ it Up, modelled by my lovely friend B:

A brilliant smurf blue shimmer, three coats. This is probably the most popular polish so far, and it doesn’t shock me. It’s such a beautiful colour!

essie–Foot Loose

This is the perfect pink. And that’s a big call because there are a LOT of pink polishes out there!

This polish was a dream to apply and was opaque in ONE coat. You heard me, ONE!!!

What is it?

essie Foot Loose. ONE COAT. ONE COAT!! I can’t get over it! I have a similar colour polish which needs three! I just cannot fault this polish. It’s a beautiful deep pink and I just love it! It’s enough to get me to get rid of all my similar coloured polishes. And that is a huge deal!

 

I’ve been digging the nail stamping lately because I went without for so long, so I brought out my favourite Red Angel plates and stamped away:

Awww, precious! Without even realising it, I did Valentines Day nails! Haha I must have subconsciously been thinking about it!

OPI DS haul

I went a littttle crazy on Catch of the Day and bought a whole bunch of OPI DS polishes. They were a good price, especially for Australia!! I looked on eBay and it looks like I got a pretty good deal AND they were here within a week of me ordering them Winner!

 

Anyway, here are my DS babies:

Custom Polish–Purple Pixie

Hi all,

I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend! I thought I’d share with you today one of my newer custom polish creations for Love Thy Polish. This is Purple Pixie:

Ah-MAZING!!! Check out those rainbows! I’m in love This was only two coats, the second done just for intensity and not coverage. I wore this for a good three days without any chips.
