k.k. Bluey Green with Konad flowers

The second of my new k.k. polishes from Melbourne is a bluey green shimmery colour. I’m not sure how else to explain it, but it’s a lot greener in real life than in the photos:

Blue2coats

Two coats with a coat of SV. Once again, this polish applied perfectly and was so easy to clean up. I’m on day two and no chips/tip wear yet!

I wasn’t sure about the colour on me at first but it’s grown on me! It’s helped that I got a couple of compliments Smile with tongue out

Aaaand then I attacked it with Konad!

Bluewflowes

Some pretty flowers with the Konad glitter top coat. Bit of a mistake, because the glitter covers the images on my thumbs a little too much.

What do you think of the colour combo? Too much? I actually really like it!!!

Milani holos & The Face Shop with Konad

Last Saturday my partner’s sister and Mum flew in from Adelaide to spend the day with us for my partner’s birthday.
We had a lovely lunch and I did their nails Open-mouthed smile
Here’s what they chose:

Pinkwstars
The Face Shop PP403 (two coats) with some Konad stars stamped on in the eggplant colour Princess Special Polish.

Pinkwstars2
This turned out great, although the image on the Konad plate was a little hard to use … I had to try multiple times before the entire image transferred onto the stamp. Pretty, though.

His sister requested Milani 3D Holographic in Digital, a pretty pink which is transformed in the sunlight (which was apparently lacking in my photos).

Digital3coats2
Three coats of Digital with some cute leaves and flowers stamped on with the Konad Princess Special Polish in purple. Excuse the bit on the index finger, she accidentally bumped it right before I took the shot!!

Digital3coats
Close up of the flowers on the thumb. Pretty, huh? She loved it!
I love doing people’s nails Open-mouthed smile

k.k. Gunmetal Grey with Blue spotties

I tried the first of the k.k. polishes Mum got me from Melbourne!

I love the formula. Such a perfect consistency and this grey was a one coater!! I did two coats, of course, because it just felt wrong doing one Smile with tongue out

Look at the pretty silver shimmer through it:

Grey

Beware, though, your nose will hate you. These stink.

Grey2coats

Pretty, pretty, pretty! Such a nice, dark yet shimmery colour!

Greywspots

And then I tried out my new nail dotting tool and did some dotties with the greeny blue KK polish! They didn’t stand out too well but I still liked them!

What do you think?

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

After a pretty terrible afternoon at work, I got an email which perked me right up. I won Cat from The Khromazone’s Birthday BYS Bonanza :D

Thank you so much, Cat, I really needed this pick-me-up!!! I’m getting sick so feeling awful and have a lot of other stuff going on at the moment (which I won’t go into).
As my prize, I got to pick 10 of the awesome BYS nail polishes from FashionAddict.

I chose:
  • Wonderland collection – Down the Rabbit Hole
  • Matte Black
  • Colour change collection – Glitter Blue
  • Colour change collection – Blue
  • Matte Royal Blue
  • Army Chic (a gorgeous beige)
  • Urban Jungle (a really unique looking light green. So hard to explain, you’ll have to wait for the swatch :p)
  • Peppermint (a beautiful frosty mint green)
  • Hunter Green (a super dark green which I cannot WAIT to try)
  • Sunshine (a bright, bright sunshine yellow)
Err, apparently I was going for a black, blue and green theme :P 8 of the 10 are variations of these shades/colours. I’ve been really into greens lately but only have a couple so I’ve gone mad ordering them!

Fingers crossed these polishes get sent out soon so I can swatch them for you guys!!!

Frankenpolish–Purple Meteor

I finally tried out my Coastal Scents silver hologram glitter powder and did some frankening.

ClearHolo

I started with an old Revlon pink tinted shimmery top coat that I’ve had for a long time and added some hologram powder. Then I thought “meh, boring” and added some of an old dark purple polish and a little black. I couldn’t tell you the exact measurements, because it was a bit of an experimental one.

Anyway, I ended up with a holo polish that I love.

PurpleMeteor

Pretty, pretty dark purple holo.

PurpleMeteor2

This is two coats, no top coat. It’s crazy pretty. Love the dark purple and holo combo! A tiny bit disappointing because the holo powder is a linear holo in the jar but doesn’t turn out linear on the nails Sad smile

Oh well, here’s a close up of the bottle to show the pretty sparkles!

Do you like frankening?

BYS Plum Crazy with Konad stamping

This was my partner’s request, and I think he chose the colours well!

PlumCrazy2coats

This is two coats of BYS Plum Crazy. It’s a very, very dark purple, almost black. Absolutely stunning.

PlumCrazycloseup

I’m trying to capture the slight shimmer through it but it is so hard.  You’ll just have to take my word for it!

This colour makes me feel really feminine without being girly. It feels like such a mature colour without being boring. Am I making any sense?!

Then, of course, I tried out my new Konad kit. Honestly, did you not see that coming?!

PlumCrazywKonad

Wooooop!

My partner requested that I use silver Konad Princess Special Polish and I chose the designs. I did the simple flower design on my fingers and on my thumb I combined 3 different designs from the same plate. There’s a butterfly, two vines and what I think is a dandelion. It turned out so, so pretty.

My right hand, not so much.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve gotten way better at Konad-ing, but my right hand still feels whacked out when I do it!

The Konad Top Coat rocks too, by the way, no smudging whatsoever! I was thinking I’d have to wait forever for it to dry but it’s not too bad!

What do you think of this design?

BYS Raspberry Sorbet

Wait, hold the presses!

RaspberrySorbet2coats

A mani without glitter or Konad-ing!!

It happened, people. But who knows when it will happen again? Especially now that I have my Konad kit Winking smile.

Anyway, this is BYS Raspberry Sorbet, 2 coats. Gorgeous colour! The photo shows off more of the brown than burgundy. It’s quite dark in real life, a very very dark browny red. A delicious colour! And so easy to apply. Loved it Open-mouthed smile

It’s pretty unique, I don’t have another like it in my collection, so I’m pretty happy to own this beauty. A good Winter colour, too!

Whatcha think?

Milani Photo Flash with Konad Plaid stamping

I give you … Milani Photo Flash.

One of the prettiest colours I own!

PhotoFlash2coats

Oh wow, sorry about the messy and dry cuticles there. I did not notice that when I was taking the photo. How embarassing!

This is a gorgeous deep berry red, with a slight red glittery shimmer through it. Stunning! Opaque in two coats (you could probably get away with one in a rush!) and wears awesomely.

But I couldn’t leave it alone, could I?

PhotoFlash2coatswKonad

Konad plaid stamping using the Konad Special Polish in white. Don’t mind the wonky thumb and little finger.  My Konad skills are still being refined Smile with tongue out

This looked sooooo pretty though. The red and white just looked amazing!

What do you think of the whole nail Konad stamping? I LOVE it! Open-mouthed smile
