Cult Nails–Untamed with OPI Teenage Dream and Cult Nails–Time Traveller with China Glaze White Cap

I’ve been loving Cult Nails lately. The creator of Cult Nails, Maria, has done such a fantastic job at producing unique and wonderful colours.

I was feeling creative so I applied two coats of Cult Nails Untamed:

This is a gorgeous Barbie pink with a lovely micro-shimmer throughout. Two coats gave me great coverage and it wasn’t uneven or patchy at all.

 

I then blinged it up:

I lightly painted some OPI Teenage Dream on the tips in a gradient pattern and stuck rhinestones in a half moon design on my thumbs. I loved it! I felt so, so girly.

 

Next up is Time Traveller:

Such a lovely deep midnight blue creme. Unfortunately the formula was a tad thick and gloopy, but I get the feeling my bottle could have done with some thinner.

 

I couldn’t leave this alone so I added a few things:

With one coat of China Glaze White Cap a gorgeous gold shimmer top coat. Lovely! I stamped some stars from the Cheeky plates on in Konad Yellow.

China Glaze–Something Sweet with accent nail

I saw this design somewhere recently but for the life of me, I can’t think where. Wherever it was, I loved it and decided to try it.

 

Here is China Glaze Something Sweet:

Two coats. Good formula. I used NYC Color Night to freehand a stripe down the middle of each ring finger nail and used the Konad top coat to stick on some square shaped rhinestones which I rotated to look like diamonds.

I was pretty happy with it until I went to bed and woke up the next day and I’d managed to imbed the rhinestones deep into the polish so they looked awful Boo!

Apart from that, I was pretty pleased with the design and I’ll give it another go when I won’t be going to bed soon after I do my mani.

BYS Pretty Pastel Peppermint with Konad

I love that I’m loving most of the polishes I’m trying lately. There’s nothing worse than trying a polish and thinking “yuck, I’ll never wear that again”.

This BYS polish is no exception: I love it!

 

 

Pretty Pastel Peppermint, three coats. I probably could have gotten away with two but I had a couple of bald spots.

It is such a lovely mid mint green. This was my choice for my weekend in Adelaide because I know BYS polishes wear so well and I was going to be wearing it for three days, possibly four.

 

And, how did you guess? I did some Konading!

 

BM-205. Love this pattern. It is just so pretty!  But my, oh my, was it a biatch. It wasn’t done very well, the edges were really sharp so when I cleaned it after each stamp, fuzz from my cotton pads kept getting stuck!! It took me until my second hand (strangely my right hand is way better than my right in this case) to get the hang of it.

 

Have you noticed that EVERY brand of stamping plates is different? Konad is awesome to use (of course) and they require little effort. A no-name Asian made plate I have needs more polish because the images are cut deeper and the Bundle Monster plates need less polish and a much firmer hand because the images are cut a lot shallower. Takes me a while to master each!! So don’t mind the messiness!!!!

NYC Color’s Angel with Konad and rhinestones

What I’m about to show you is the best Konad-ing I’ve ever done. Are you ready? Go!

First I started with three coats of NYC Color’s Angel.

Okay, so this photo sucks. There is a stunning fine gold shimmer through the polish which the camera refuses to pick up.

This was three coats. The first two were streaky but the third evened it out and a coat of SV made it nice and smoooov!

Then I tried a Konad design that I haven’t tried before:

 

I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!! The red Konad Princess Special Polish is amazing. So vibrant and easy to use. I seriously did not smudge one bit and I’m so proud of myself!

I added some flower shaped rhinestones because I got a biiig lot of them in the post on Tuesday.

I’m a bit in love with this mani. I’ve seen the white and red combo heaps but never got around to trying it. I am sooo glad I did! You can also slightly see the gold shimmer in this photo, especially if you click on it and make it biiiig!

I’m so sorry. These are ridiculously bad photos but do you know how hard it is to photograph these shinies succesfully!?
Anyway, there’s a mix of colours in each design. Love Can’t wait to use the big round ones!

Sinful Colors Mint Candy Apple with Konad flowers and rhinestones

This was my first time experimenting with two colours of Konad on the one design.

My neighbour (who reads my blog – hi Del!) was really interested in Konad and so she came over and I did her nails.

I started with three coats of Sinful Colours Mint Candy Apple (a favourite of mine) and then used a full nail Konad design.

 

Behold!

I used the Jungle Green Konad Princess Special Polish for the flower stems and the Psyche Pink for the flowers. Then I added some clear Konad rhinestones into the centres of the flowers.

 

 

She loved it! I’m a bit proud of it too, even though some of the designs are a bit wonky. I find it much harder to Konad on someone else’s nails, how about you?

 

By the way, the Konad Special Top Coat is SO worth it. So, SO worth it. It is super glossy and wears like STEEL. Each time I’ve used rhinestones on my mani’s I’ve dabbed some of their top coat on the bottom of the rhinestone and then pressed it onto the nail with tweezers, then I put the top coat over the whole nail. I don’t put it over the stone but kind of around the edges, if you know what I mean. The rhinestones have lasted at least three days which is amazing, especially for someone like me who is so rough with their nails.

Now my neighbour has gone and spent $150 on Konad stuff and Seche Vite Bwahahhaa.

BYS Rebel Red with Konad stamping

This has to be my favourite mani ever.

I had so much fun doing it and I think it’s my best attempt at Konad to date!

Here is BYS Rebel Red. I did two coats. It is an absolutely beautiful formula and amazingly gorgeous red and I think it should be a staple in everyone’s polish collection!!!

 

Then I stamped some gorgeous Konad flowers and added clear Konad rhinestones to the middle of a couple of flowers on my thumb and ring fingers.

So, so, SO beautiful. I had so many comments on this mani. I wore it for four days because I loved it so much. It actually looked way better in real life; I’m a bit disappointed with the photo!

Just don’t mind my dry cuticles. They’re a little angry at the moment! Can anyone recommend a good cuticle balm/oil??
