This Thursday’s viral video is, once again, ahhh-mazing!

The Gregory Brothers have a channel on You Tube and they auto tune the news. They literally take news reports and auto tune them and make a song out of them.

This is one of my favourites, and one of the most popular.

 

This is so freakin’ smart. It would have taken so long to do and I can’t believe people even have the brain capacity to think of stuff like this!!!

 

It just makes me laugh. And how can that be bad!?

LA Colors Color Craze Cayenne Pepper

I was a bit worried about this colour. I bought it in my last Cherry Culture haul and when I got it I kind of thought “meh”. It just seemed like a bit of a dull colour, and it looks more brown in the bottle.

I’m happy to say that I love it.

 

This is two coats which gave me full coverage. It was so easy to apply so it was pretty neat around the edges! It doesn’t wear particularly well, with tip wear the next day.

 

Of course, the next day I couldn’t leave it alone …

 

Prettttyy   This is with one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Black Holo on top. I’ve seen this polish all over the nail blogs lately an I’m sooo glad I bought it! It just adds a whole new dimension to the mani.

Kleancolor Metallic Green + Disco Ball

Warning: Disaster area ahead.

 

Urgh. Urgh urgh urgh.

Ho ho ho, it’s the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen! I look like a freakin’ Christmas tree.

 

What possessed me to do this?! As if the Kleancolor Metallic Green wasn’t loud enough, I went and added Kleancolor Disco Ball to it.

It looks disgusting.

I was self conscious of my nails all day, and naturally, I got a few comments. They were comments like “Oh! Look at your nails!”, not compliments like usual! I could not wait to get this off my fingers.

Massive fail.

 

Anyway, the application was great (of course, a colour I hate is awesome to apply!!) and it was probably my neatest mani ever. It’s more of a foil than a metallic and it has full coverage in two coats. This is just one coat of Disco Ball on top. It’s strange, Disco Ball is actually purple and blue glitter (see photo below, second from left) but the glitter turned bronze and red on my nails?! It looked more like I applied Firework (left).

 

 

I’m definitely going to need to give this polish another chance and wear it over a better colour.

Oh, and it’s true what they say, these polishes stink. I dislike the bottles too because they hurt my poor little hands when the lid is stuck on tight and I have to wrench it open. Solution: use a square of anti-slip rubber matting to open hard to open things. My partner taught me that

 

Anyway, sorry this post was so, well, ugly. But I figure I might as well show you the fails as well as the successes!! I’m only human, after all.

LA Colors Aqua Crystals with Cherimoya 2012 Cracked in Apocalypse and Typhoon

These Cherimoya 2012 Crackles are cool.

I layered it over my LA Colors Aqua Crystals mani because I didn’t want to take the Aqua Crystals off

These are oil based polishes, so they smell a little funky. But they start cracking literally the second you stop painting and dry super fast.

 

Cherimoya Apocalypse (no top coat).

 

They also dry matte, which I really like, because you can choose if you want to leave them matte or apply a top coat to get the shine.

 

Cherimoya Typhoon is awesome matte. It’s such a pretty blue. Don’t mind my funky coloured fingers. I took this under a very yellow lamp and had to tweak the colours in Photoshop to get the blue right. In the process, my hands look really weird.

 

This is Typhoon with a coat of SV. Looks so different, right? I can’t decide which I like more!

Again, excuse the freaky hands.

 

I really like these crackles. I love how quick they are and they apply really easily and neatly. They also don’t flake if you apply them over a top coat, like the BYS Cracked’s do, so it’s such a good way to liven up a tired mani.

 

Can’t wait to try Judgement Day (purple) and Eternity (blue). Why didn’t I get the dark green?!?!?!

Sinful Colors with Konad roses

I made some really good choices with my last Cherry Culture order.

Like this one:

 

Sinful Colors’ Mint Apple.

 

This is such a pretty mint green. It was a dream to apply and took three coats to reach opacity. It was just gorgeous. It has a slight shimmer through it.

It also wore like a dream. I put this on on Sunday morning and didn’t take it off until Tuesday night. I only had one chip. ONE!!!

Of course, I had to practice my Konad-ing.

 

Pretty roses accent nails. Excuse the black bits, I originally was stamping star printed tips and screwed it up so the Konad polish stained my cuticles and fingers something fierce. It’s really strong!!

 

I loved this mani. It felt so feminine without being prissy. I’m not a very girly girl so it’s important for me to find the right balance!!!!

Coastal Scents pigments

*Drool*

My Coastal Scents pigments have arrived. I was definitely not disappointed – they are beautiful!

I was going to get the samples of each but shipping was so decently priced that I ended up getting 28g (approx, can’t remember exactly!) of each. And I am soooo glad.

 

Emerald Green. *swoon*

 

Purple Punch. I got all excited because I thought it was full buuuuut it’s just a thin coating of it all over

 

Black Magic Holographic Glitter … REALLY hard to capture this one on camera.

Let’s try that again.

 

Aaand my favourite …

 

Silver Holographic Glitter. Aaaaaah pretty. I can see a rainbow!

 

 

They also threw in a sample eyeshadow – woo!

LA Colors Aqua Crystals

Oh my.

I’m not going to say anything, I’m just going to let the photos do the talking.

 

 

Blurry shot to capture the sparkly goodness.

 

This LA Colors polish is a new favourite. It’s called Aqua Crystals, and the name is perfect for it because it literally glows. Love, love, love!

 

This is three coats and it looks like the polish has light blue, darker blue and black glitter, and a lot of it. I didn’t expect this to be fully opaque. I thought it would be good as a top coat, but as soon as I painted the second coat I knew it would be perfect on its own.

Here’s how much I love this polish: I got my Beauty Joint order today and I couldn’t bear to take it off so I just tried a couple of the Cherimoya crackles over it I never want to take this offff!!! Probably a good thing because it’s going to be a total biatch to get off
