Hey everyone!

I have some very exciting news to share with you today. Rachel from Glam Polish has come up with a fantastic idea – Australia’s first monthly indie box!

Print

What’s In-die Box? contains five Aussie indie polishes which are BRAND NEW shades and in some cases, limited edition.

The best part is, you don't need to commit to a monthly subscription. Just pre-order each time!

Happy birthday Pretty Serious!

Birthday-Banner_grande

Photo thanks to www.pretty-serious.com

It’s a celebration today! Today marks the first anniversary of Pretty Serious, brainchild of Kaz.

Kaz has worked hard over the last year to establish her brand and she produces such amazing nail polishes, eyeshadows and lip glosses.

Without further ado, here is Daphne’s Birthday Party!

DaphnesBdayParty

Gorgeous, right? Daphne is Kaz’s chickie babe who adorns all her branding material and she is so CUTE!

This polish contained medium sized pink, blue, green, gold and silver glitters. So sparkly and blingy, I couldn’t even capture it. This was two coats. The first coat was a little patchy but the second coat evened it right out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Daphne, Pretty Serious and Kaz! You have done an amazing job Smile

HARE Golden Years & Oceans of Alloys and Dollish Polish Go Luigi!

I have a couple of pretty indies for you today. We do really have some talented ladies out there who create some beauties.

The first is a couple from HARE polish. Nikole creates some gorgeous polishes and I believe she creates them with her partner/husband!
GoldenYears_OceansofAlloys
The darker blue with green and silver glitter is Golden Years and the light blue is Oceans of Alloys. Oceans of Alloys is “a dusty light blue jelly with a mixture of gold and copper glitter in both hexes and squares in several different sizes. Mysterious iridescent blue glitter is scattered throughout, as well as delicate gold flecks.” It really is lovely. Golden Years is “a semi-sheer navy blue jelly packed full of gold glitter in squares and hexes in all kinds of sizes, mysterious iridescent blue glitter, navy blue hexes and delicate gold flecks”.
I used two coats of each and had no issues with application despite the fact they are very glitter-heavy.

The next polish is quite old but a favourite of mine.
GoLuigi!
Dollish Polish Go Luigi! layered here over black. Isn’t this CUTE!? I just love green and blue glitter. I had to fish for that poor lone star, so that’s my only complaint. This was two coats.

What’s your favourite indie brand?

OPI Mermaid Tears and Chi Chi

Another OPI for you ladies today! This is Mermaid Tears from the Pirates of the Carribean collection:

MermaidsTears

Two coats. Perfect. I can’t rave enough about these Pirates polishes. They are my all time favourite OPIs. Love!

This is an unnamed Chi Chi polish I got in a set at Christmas time last year:

purple

This is a lovely purple creme. Two coats. The whole set of polishes (I believe there were 8) is gorgeous. Such a good buy for $19.95!

Cate Ruby Purple Mania

Happy Aussie Nails Monday! I signed up to do the ANM challenge each week when it first started months and months ago but this is the first one I’ve actually done.. Whoops!

I have another Cate Ruby beauty to show you today. This is a deep purple shimmer and it is a ONE COATER! I did not even feel tempted to do another coat ‘just in case’ like I always do.

PurpleMania

Gorgeous, right?

The theme for ANM today is ‘bling’, so I added a bit of bling:

ANM

I’m hating the pink hexes I put on my ring finger but loving the rhinestones on the rest of the fingers Open-mouthed smile

OPI Absolutely Alice

This is everyone’s favourite OPI, I think. I’ve seen a lot of blog posts about it and I have to admit, it is beautiful.

AbsolutelyAlice'

Absolutely Alice, three coats. This is packed with blue and gold glitters of different shades. It applies really well for such a glitter bomb. I used it over a PVA base coat and I really wanted to keep the peeled off bits of Absolutely Alice. Haha, does that make me sad? I’m okay with that Smile with tongue out

Do you have AA?

FNUG Futuristica

Introducing one of my new favourite polishes.

And of course, it’s holo.

It’s FNUG Futuristica!

Futuristica

This is inside. INSIDE!

And now outside:

Futuristica2

Futuristica3

Aaarghh! So much beautiful holo. This is a lovely pale blue colour and the holo is off the charts. It’s definitely the most holo polish I own.

I used the FNUG Aqua Base and that really help in application. It was still a tiny bit patchy but not too bad. I didn’t use top coat which means it didn’t last very long until it was chipped but the top coat definitely dulled the holo effect Sad smile

I just love looking at photos of this polish. It is such a stunner.

Do you have any FNUGs?

Aussie favourites–Chi Chi Plastic Fantastic and Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun

I have a couple of Aussie stunners to show you today.

The first is from Chi Chi, an awesome brand who have a huge range of polishes and other cosmetics.

This is Plastic Fantastic:

PlasticFantastic

Such a pretty deep mint aqua-y green. I found it hard to describe this colour, can you tell!? Two coats. A great, creamy formula.

I stamped some pretty flowers on top.

And this is Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun:

LiquidLeprechaun

This is from Pretty Serious’ Halloween collection. It truly is like someone threw a leprechaun into a blender and hit the go button. Poor little leprechaun Sad smile

This has a boat load of green and gold glitters. I just love it! It only needed two coats and application was fantastic so I needed to do minimal clean up. Winner!

Go Aussies!

China Glaze Hanging in the Balance and Whirled Away

I really, really loved this mani.

For my Secret Santa present from the lovely Peita from Peita’s Polish I received three of the polishes from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection.

Hanginginthebalance

This is Hanging in the Balance, a beautiful bright blue creme. Stunning, isn’t it? It stains like a biatch, so beware! I layered Whirled Away, the black and white glitter, on top.

I really love the colour combination but the glitters were just too big for me. I’m not a big fan. If the glitters were smaller then it would be a winner!

I also stamped a koi fish design from plate A48. Beautiful fishy!
